Once clear cut for redwood timber, and then mined to feed a cement plant, in 2011 San Vicente Redwoods finally found a home where natural resources could be protected, not extracted. At almost 9,000 acres, it was too much for any one conservation organization to manage, so four non-profit organizations banded together with a shared vision to protect and restore this amazingly rich place. We were all devastated when the CZU Lightening Complex Fire burned through this area in 2020, dramatically altering the face of this landscape.

Together, as land trusts and protectors of redwood forests, we are four non-profits that raise money from private individuals and foundations to forever protect and care for places like San Vicente Redwoods – places that are rich in forest lands, waterways, habitats like coastal prairie and the many plants and animals of all kinds that live here.
